Iacren Guild

The Iacren Guild was a generally well-known supplier of swords for hire. The guild was founded in the 1200s, during the height of the Gwerian Empire's control over Nurfel. Initially, it was an underground operation, patronised by criminal gangs and shady businesses in and around the city of Gwer. After the fall of the empire, the Iacren Guild was reconceived as a more reputable organisation, known to contract its members out to shops, taverns and trading caravans as bodyguards, and even to the local city guard when extra man-power was needed. The majority of the guild's members were veteran soldiers or retired adventurers, who are compensated for their service to the guild with food, gold, and a place to stay in any of the guild's halls throughout the south-west of Auriin.
